hello dear friends..

as with most of us... there is so much to keep up with that it is hard to devote time to all of the options that surround us.

we have been busy renovating the store which feels so refreshing, working on many projects (one of them pictured) such a blessing to work with amazing people.. 

and of course,  sucked into pinterest and instagram... i would love to know where you all are... and reconnect... so feel free to leave a comment and i will love following your adventures ... i have found many of you... hoping to locate more.

well i am sorry to say i missed most of december as i was sick like most around the world...
the christmas season was lovely at home in colorado with family, friends and yes... snow

are you already tired of the new years resolutions re diets... lets just eat what we love in moderation right?

dream come true...

my friend joan mcnamara (lovely owner of joan's on third) introduced me to a book series one year ago and i purchased them immediately.  i knew this would become the start of a wonderful obsession...

little did i realize that i would then read the books as i fell asleep at night, use the recipes constantly, and now meet the amazing authors.

christopher hirsheimer and melissa hamilton are superb talents. they share a unique and well travelled past ... the story too special to write out here... i suggest you purchase a copy - or the set of their series #1-7 with #8 around the corner!

their new book just out ... canal house cooks every day.

they were gracious to stop at red ticking yesterday fresh off the plane, luggage in hand to come see
us and visit and sign copies of their new book. it felt as though we had always been friends...

i look forward to making the journey to canal house and experiencing their wonderful world.

i must confess i did jump the chain link fence at the colorado state fair with my sister decades ago
when we went to the monkees concert... and although it would be more difficult to do today... i would probably still attempt it!

i will be 50 this month and it is exciting, exhilarating and fun...
friends and family gather and it is one month of celebrations...
i love to love and feel very loved... xx

we are having perfect fall days here in seattle and all of the excitement it brings... nesting and entertaining.. we are stocking up with loads of goodies to supply you with all of your needs..

getting closer...

late last fall, most of you know... my sister karen purchased her first home.
we completely tore it apart and for months have been working with an architect/builder and a team of subs to put it back together... we have 1 month to go and all hands are on deck...

working with my sister has been amazing. she is working full time running a dental practice which is all consuming... i have been traveling monthly to colorado while running red ticking the balance of the time.

she had been looking for a while and when this all happened... we had no idea how extensive and intense it would all be... and thru it all... we have learned so much, grown even closer and in the end..
created a classic, modern, cozy, yet elegant home where she will live and we will all enjoy for years to
come... (although a man came in the other day asking about it...and inquiring was it for sale?)
karen and i are thinking... could we sell it and do it again? maybe this is a start of something new... who knows!

for now... we will do all we can to finish up... just in time for football games and thanksgiving turkey!

fall harvest...

well it has been quite a summer... a wonderful one... full of love, laughter, work and always learning...
i apologize for my absence...i am juggling quite alot now as we all are and had to take a bit of a break.

fall is here and full of abundant possibilities... today was glorious and i hope you all are doing well and loving life... so much to share with you and will do as things progress..

apples... truly one of Gods greatest gifts.. enjoy.

living a simpler life...

i feel as though many of us would love nothing more than to edit what we have and live a more peaceful life.... there are days when i would like to sell it all and move to a small town near the beach... i did escape to a lovely place and thought about it... (for now)...

for we know not when...
after returning from colorado this week i find myself lost in thought over those who have lost loved ones or who might have paralysis... children losing parents, parent losing child...

we are all caught up in our daily "whirlwinds" when in reality none of it really matters...
let's take time to really do all we can to help the victims in this tragedy... write a letter, send flowers,
or just simply remember them in our own way...

like this darling man jonathan... gone too soon.
