i have such a new appreciation for them... they can make or break a room... as can lighting, a sofa or a wonderful fireplace. it all comes together... and i just love this one... so full of amazing color...

ray and susie...

our dear friend ray passed away this week.

from my post last fall i received many lovely notes from you and i want to thank you
for your amazing kindness...

he is surely in heaven with his darling wife susie... but so difficult to let them go...
we loved them both dearly... some of the kindest people we will ever know...
we grew up across the street from them and played in their driveway.. they watched us
grow up and we visited them on many trips home over these 40 years.

we will miss you ray and susie...
you will live on in our hearts forever.

a cute story for you all...

my friend has a very lovely home.
being in seattle, living near the water, we do have rat problems.
they had one... a big one and nothing could get rid of them.

so one day my friend went to the animal rescue to get herself a cat who
would prowl around and scare them all away.

as she searched and searched she noticed they were all lazy and thought
they are not going to be any help..
so she walked away...

she then went to where the dogs were (already has rescued several) and
when she saw this guy... it was all over.
he was shaking, scared and in dire need of love...

fred now lives in the big beautiful house filled with love.
and hopefully, keeping
all the rats away...

this topic has been on my mind for awhile now and i really wanted to share my thoughts and discuss this with you my friends...

i am not coming from a political angle but from an emotional one.

we all realize these last years have been providing us with many peaks and valleys in our economy so how has it affected you? and not in a financial way, because we know we have all had to work harder than ever before.
but from a true inner connection with your faith, family, friends and home.

my friend came up with the perfect word for it. savor.

in all of this change i really feel as though many are humbled and truly living their
lives in a more realistic way...

through all of this... we are all becoming better people don't you think?

i know i am jumping the gun but...

i am already thinking about days like this...

peace...

after you have had one of those days... don't you just want to go home and crawl into bed?
