This is a beautiful post.
I saw the news of this disaster and thought of all of our friends living in this beautiful place. So sad and such a loss for many.
My prayers are with these people who have been faced with this disaster.

Oh Pam,
We are devastated to see the terrible scenes of this on the news.The whole area looks like a third world country. I was talking to friends about the family that i saw sitting on top of their car. Apparantly, the wife and son were saved but the husband was lost. It actually doesn't seem real. We will be thinking of all of the people in the area that are going through such a terrible time. Let's hope that the weather improves and they can soon start to get their lives back together. They say that the mental effects will be as devastating as the flood itself. XXXX
It is a dark, dark day here Pam. My beautiful country has released the full fury of its diverse weather onto the people of Queensland & its capital city Brisbane. Our fellow Aussies are going need a huge helping hand to get through this catastrophe today & into the future as they rebuild their lives. And remember too, that most household insurance policies exclude flood damage, so these folk are going to do it very, very tough. Thanks for your support, there are a number of well-known Qld. bloggers who have been directly impacted, refer to A-M's blog (Thehousethata-mbuilt).

A lovely and appreciated thought, Pam. Words seem so empty and hollow at the moment as the details of the extent of the disaster wrought become clearer. I posted about it here at http://www.lifeonplanetbaby.com/2011/01/of-droughts-and-flooding-rains.html - look at the comparative sizes of France and Germany compared to the area under flood in Australia. And that was just last week's statistic. Heavens knows what it is like now. Unbelievable. J x

I have customers, blog friends and family in Australia. All are warm, wonderful people and I want to add my own heartfelt prayers to this chain for an end to the flooding and a speedy return to normal life there.

Oh, I've been just sick about this...the accounts from some of our dear blogger friends that are right in the middle of it all has been heartbreaking...praying it will all be over soon so they can start the recovery and healing process...it's going to take a while.
