the one that got away...

i was looking for champagne baskets for a client and this one came along... it was $$$
so we passed... she then thought about it, decided to purchase ... and it was gone.
isn't is a beauty? lovingly filled to the brim with firewood in a fabulous cabin by the water?

another one bites the dust. so sad.

have a great wednesday everyone..xx

When will any of us learn, myself especially included, to buy it if we really love it!

Oh this used to happen to me, but in light of the economy and a high $$ tag, I can see how it came about.
Better luck next time!

You are on a song mataphor roll!!! I will now have the company of Queen singing in my head the rest of the day...I think it's the perfect song to help me do some serious purging as I unpack.

So sorry about the basket...that kind of loss sticks in the gut for a while (sorry, that's not very encouraging is it?!). We chose not to purchase a beautiful little turn of the century plein air painting in Carmel years ago (of the lone cypress), and it still haunts to this day...lesson learned!

Hi Pam . . . there is a large French basket at Pac Gal. Is it too big? Hope all is well!

Love it, wish I got it. But probably not in my nonexistent budget.

When I find the money again, I'll be shopping with you.

Sometimes we know it's just the right piece and pass. Other times we settle on one that isn't without much thought. We a small chandelier that the moment I saw it knew it would be perfect. More than I wanted to spend but 6 years later I still love love love it.

Oh Pam,
I've done that so many times. It's usually best to go with your first instinct, but I'm sure that you know that more than me !!
Not to worry....another one will turn up and it will be even better. XXXX

yes, yes, yes. this one is monumentally special
it is the one that got away, but i imagine whoever purchased this one is enjoying it.
the goods ones always come and go...but now you have a photo documented to remind you how great it was.

If it cost that much$$$ then that must be the reason she past on it. I personally would try to recreate it. There are so many old baskets out there you can pick up for a song. Grab the paint and give a a try! Sometimes it's more special when you can say "I made this".

Oh that disappointing feeling when you snooze and lose. I think we've all done it though, especially when the price tage is more than we expect.
