big chill weekend

do you ever have one of those weekends that you never want to end?

(ok, so many we cannot count right?)

but the real.... feel good...

love the people you are with...

relaxing..

eat...

play games...

eat...

watch movies...

swimming...

eat..

laugh...

sleep... and more laughter...

oh, and eat things you have not eaten in years... i confess... it was so good...

this was one of them... gorgeous home on the water and no plans... truly blessed.

every day is a gift... let's always remember this. and enjoy each to the fullest.

oh no...

i know the time is drawing near... i have had impeccable vision my whole life and i now find myself doing the squint thing that i have seen others do and thought "oh i am so glad that is not me"... well, my friends... i might be in "readerville" specs soon... hhhmmmm i can't do the drugstore thing... and when do you actually know you REALLY need them? somedays i am fine... others not so good... went to visit my eye dr and she says i am fine.. "pick up some readers if you need them" i try them on and i see double... ???

i think my mind is going as well... i could not remember where i found the photo and

it was from habitually chic! so sorry heather.. eyes, mind... all going south...

hanging onto summertime...

but i am gearing up for fall.. i am determined to wear all of my favorite whites until the very last second but my mind is thinking fall when it comes to the store...

and these put me in the perfect mood...

what begins your fall transition... inspiration?

the best linen in the world.. (besides vintage!)

when i do not have enough vintage linen for a project..i turn to my favorite belgian linen from libeco lagae...

i had a great meeting with them while in nyc and went back to re-read one of my favorite blog posts from our talented friend diane dorrans saeks at the style saloniste.

red ticking has purchased alot for fall and linens will be in stock shortly.

we can also custom order, upholster or slipcover anything you would like with their fabrics.

truly a special company...simply one of the greatest i have ever worked with.

speaking of lobster...

when you correspond with someone thru a blog or email you get to know someone pretty well... but when you meet in person, you truly connect.

well, i had the pleasure of meeting barbara at hampton hostess... what a delight...

she is one of the most gracious, kind and darling women i have had the pleasure to meet. she welcomed us into her gorgeous home and treated us as though we were old friends...

what a way to begin a stay in the hamptons... thank you barbara... you are simply wonderful.

she was in seattle and stopped by red ticking for a visit (i LOVE meeting my blogger pals)
