back to reality... and embracing it..

ok, enough about my holiday... and now back to reality. i heard from a dear friend today (jackie)
she told me she loves this time of year... the rain... it's a cozy time of year... and something hit me...

change your frame of mind... continue to stay positive... and i love cozy... wonderful linens, blankets, sitting by the fire, cooking yummie meals, so... i will go ahead... EMBRACE IT.

when life, weather, health whatever gets to you... lean on a friend... they will always be there for you.
thank you jackie... you are such a gem.  xx

Oh Pam,
You are lovely. I am honoured to be called your friend.
I think that one is born with a disposition and I am very lucky to have been born with my glass more than half full and positivly overflowing. My sister is the same. I really do love all of the four seasons, as they all offer something beautiful. That's why I love being British. I know people think that it's always raining here but, it's not. We have definite seasons .I really like it when the clocks go back and the dark nights are here and, I also love it in the Spring when the opposite occurs.
.....and, Christmas is on it's way !!!! Lots of love Pam and keep your glass half full XXXX

What a great idea! I got out all of my wool mittens and scarves recently and I have to say that I'm looking forward to all the Pacific Northwest rain and mist this season. The snow...well, I'll have to work on embracing that!

Those linens make me want to embrace the season sooner than later~ I just got home from Provence and met a special lady who dyes the old french linen sheets the most amazing colors, like your image. YOU would have loved them. She also had old yarn baskets with the original French label on them. Only one would fit in my suitcase. My favorites were all shades of her sheets were the lavender grays:)

There are two sides to everything...one is always something beautiful to embrace.

Welcome Home!

Embrace it! I love the thought.... going through a separation and there are certainly those moments....when I want to melt into oblivion ...I'll try to remember this post! Last night my friend Crissy came over and we danced to our favorite tunes totally carefree for about an hour - it was superb! Jennifer jennsthreegraces

Is that old madder dye on those beautiful linens? Wow...
If you don't have the Book of Fine Linen, Francoise de Bonneville, you might like to treat yourself - it is breathtaking.

I couldn't agree more, Jackie is truly a rare gem. She was there for me last year when life seemed to be falling apart. She is always so upbeat and encouraging. So happy you got away & recharged Pam. Treating our mind & soul is what we need to do. Raining here today, our 2nd day of rain in 5 weeks. I was bemoaning how I missed the sun. I think I need to adjust my attitude! Hugs to you Pam and thanks for your super comments today.
With love,
Deb

I don't know Pam...the sun is great and all but the fall...this is when the NW is at it's best. There is nothing better than hunkering down with all my kids on the sofa, snuggling under (one of your)blankets and watching whatever Mae picks. I am at my height of happiness.
Glad you are home.

XOXO
