new year reflection...

spent a wonderful christmas at home in colorado with my family and friends... so fortunate to have experienced a beautiful snowfall while i was there... but more important... lots of love and visits with amazing people whom i care dearly for...

the new year was spent with wonderful friends in tremendous rainstorms at the beach...so cozy and fun.

we rang in the new year (have not been able to stay up in years!) but this holiday was different somehow... the new year will be an exciting one in many ways... as it unfolds each day with new hope and amazing optimism...

i wish everyone many special blessings in 2010...

vintage leather chairs

i dont know what it is about these amazing chairs... their history? comfort? patina? color? whatever it is ... they are probably one of my most favorite things in the world. i have never met an old ragged leather chair that i didn't fall in love with...

humbled.

as i sit and watch the news and see people losing their jobs, homes or loved ones... i am so humbled and sad.

i always think of christmas as a wonderful time of year and for so many it is not.

i pray that God be with all of those who are homeless, out of work, losing someone they love...

the spirit of the season is being kind, considerate, and loving toward others. it is so simple. lets all try to pass this on... we will all feel better.

ok, i admit, sometimes i eat a bite or two... i never eat the whole piece. fruitcake intrigues me and i always enjoy the "bite". i am a dean and deluca addict and receive emails and catalogs from them all the time. i scan and drool and when i saw these i thought.... i might eat a whole piece... or two!

personally, i wait to indulge in my mother's homemade fudge and award winning baked goods...
