indigo

i live in blue jeans..i probably own 15 pair... i used to dress in a suit almost daily in my past (24 year clothing and design career) and now i get to live in whatever i want... what a joy!

i also LOVE anything antique or vintage indigo...

i buy every textile i can that represents "true blue" ...

here is a little sample of what i love... and why i love it... age, patina...

and then the fabric becomes a genuine custom pillow... perfection.

dream come true...

these are a love story...

i found these in a darling kitchen YEARS ago in a wonderful customer's home. i was there looking at a sofa they wanted to sell.

this pair of lovelies lived in their kitchen at the breakfast table. one slightly larger than the other... "his" and "hers". they were arranged around a teeny tiny table and they sat there for every meal.

i pondered... than asked. "if you ever consider selling those, can you let me know?"

i thought about them for so long... and one day, i got the call.

"we are ready to sell the chairs... are you still interested in buying them?"

"ARE YOU KIDDING" ... i thought... wow... i felt like i hit the jackpot.

i immediately said "YES" and honestly... had no idea what price she might ask...

well, it was a fair deal $$$$$ but worth every penny...

now a serious work in progress... striping, staining, and new upholstery ...a little tightening here and there and they will be perfect.

will surely let you see the result... hhmmmm now, upholstery... what does it want to be?

i have dreamed of the chairs since i saw "emma" years ago with gwenie... the pair of fabulous wingbacks in front of her father's fireplace... have you seen it? if not, rent immediately. charming movie... xx

i know...

sounds crazy considering it is late july but we in seattle are finally basking in the sunshine...

and what better place to do it... then right here...

sorry for my absence ....i have been spending wonderful quality time with my family.

years ago i subscribed to martha stewart magazine... "living"...

i was like a kid when it showed up.

i would love reading "good things".

now that i am older and wiser... i have a few "good things" coming to

red ticking for all of you... and here is just a hint... more to come.. very soon.

clean fun

another project in the works with my (favorite client...ssshhh you know who you are!)

several things in the works... one of which is a laundry room...

i find them fascinating. as some of you know, i love laundry rooms and anything to do with fresh clean fabrics... i found this great photo the other day and find it clean, simple and fun.

just might be the inspiration needed to make this project really fabulous...

i am working with a great client who is super fun and loves all rare vintage finds....

lovely things that provide fond memories of her childhood.

it is a great project because i hunt for wonderful things that she will not only appreciate, but treasure for years to come. here is one of those perfect finds... much more to come!

design dream...

i wish someone would come to me and say ... "we own these little cottages (beach or mountain) and we want you to restore/decorate them for us"... i would drop everything... well almost!

years ago, my friends lived in a small cottage in montauk.

"bridgeford cottages" little houses by the sea...they were plain jane but very charming in their own way. we used to sit and dream of buying them and decorating them all differently...

each having their own personality... then opening a bed and breakfast unlike any other... chic and cool... town and country style...

we were in maine recently and saw some darling cottages we were going to stay one evening... took one look inside and wanted to run for the hills... from the outside, potential.. the inside, dreadful.

someday... i will find the perfect location... and turn my dream into reality.

our holiday was soooo relaxing and lovely...

we have wonderful friends who invited us into their lovely beach house and it was

"somethings gotta give + big chill" ... who could ask for more...

this is me (i do not like my picture taken) but my sweet boyfriend took it at a distance

so i thought i would give you a glimpse of the heavenly seagrass and the vintage cot filled with pillows that lies in between their home and the beach... truly spectacular....

hope you all had a fabulous holiday... and now onto friday and another weekend!
