i always think of christmas as a wonderful time of year and for so many it is not.
i pray that God be with all of those who are homeless, out of work, losing someone they love...
the spirit of the season is being kind, considerate, and loving toward others. it is so simple. lets all try to pass this on... we will all feel better.

We have been feeling the same so this year we tried to give as much as we could to those in need. We started on Dec 1st and made it to the 15th but as the oppurtunity presents itself we will keep on giving because, after all, it is Christmas every day.
Dear Paula. You are such a kind and wonderful person. It's so true, unfortunately, that so many are going through serious crisis in this economy. The likes of which I'm never seen before. I keep thinking back to how horrible the depression must have been for so many in the 30's. A kind word can mean so much. Thank you for visiting me again and your kind words. I usually do 2 tree's and did miss seeing my ornaments this year. I put a couple of things around like you suggested and got busy making the grands a couple of things and do feel better - thanks to your kindness.
Hugs...Tracy :)
It really makes me so mad at myself. I am mad I am spending so much money on meaningless gifts and food for just one day, when so many are going without anything. I have so much to be thankful for but all I do is complain, my tree is too big to decorate, the wreath out front isn't large enough blah blah blah. I wish everybody could feel the joy of Christmas. Especially me. MB
Hi Pam. As John Donne wrote "No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee." Connection, empathy, respect...what Christmas should be all about. Thanks for the "moment" amidst the hurley burley. Merry Christmas, XO Trish
Sweet...enduring thoughts.

Thank you Pam for stopping me in my rushed tracks & reminding me gently what this week is truly all about.

Thanks for reminding us of the "true" meaning of Christmas. So kind..
Dear Pam, please forgive me for calling you Paula in my earlier post. I am so embarrassed! I promise it won't happen again.

This is true! We have to help other people ! This time of the year should be fabulous, wonderful, romantic,... But it is not at all a wonderful time for a lot of people!
So it is our duty to help other people in this Christmas time!

What a lovely sentiment for this holiday season. Thank you for the reminder about what this time of year is truly about!
so true. It's hard to be overly joyous when so many are in pain. We are keeping it low key here - simple presents, no big over abundance spending. This week, will be about giving, in our own small way.
So, so true. Thank you for saying it.
Thanks Paula. I appreciate your kind words more than you know... I am ONE of those who lost my job (of 16yrs) just this past October. Although it is sad to lose the familiarity, it's liberating to now have the time to connect with NEW people & ideas. If I were still there, I wouldn't have started TO blog... nor would have I met you and all the other beautiful bloggers.... ThX again for your inspirational photos and kind words.

What kind words..thank you
I think you've captured the essence of what Christmas is all about...kindness and goodwill towards man as they say! It really does go a long way toward a better world!
Many blessings to you and yours Pam, and Merry Christmas!

How very true, Pam. Thanks for posting these thoughts. If the holidays mean anything to anyone, then it should be about going that extra yard to be kind, non-judgmental, and particuarly generous with a smile. I like to think I'm kind the whole year over, but I'm the first to admit there's room for improvement.
Merry Christmas!
Michael
You are such a thoughtful person.
Wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year :)

This is so true! I feel truly blessed, and feel for those who are less fortunate...God has blessed us with so much! -- and you, with such a wonderful heart. I wish you, John, and your children, a wonderful Christmas, filled with laughter, joy, and much love.
It was wonderful meeting you this year, and I cannot wait to see you again.

Wonderful words. I hope that you have a very happy new year!
Happy Holiday to you. Your words so beautifully express the spirit of a true Holiday, in my case Christmas. My youngest son really touched me the other day as a couple of his friends were very depressed at the idea of a Christmas without presents and just Mc Do hamburgers. He asked us if he could take a few treats from our Christmas feast, duck, wine, champagne, desert, and gifts to bring to his friends parents so that they could have something special to eat and a few gifts to open. I then realized that as a parent, that was my most important accomplishment, that my teenage son has an instinctive sense of compassion. my best Christmas present...
Such a lovely post and so heartfully true...may we all share God's grace in whatever way we can to those who are in need. And yes it is so simple...kindness knows no boundries and fills hearts with love...thank you for sharing yours.
Denise
Beautifully said. Thank you.
Blessings and light to you for the new year.
Wonderful. I too have been humbled as I witness so many around me losing work, fighting battles with cancer or other health issues -
Life is all about caring, sharing and realizing that what we have today is all a gift.
