barefoot contessa

one of my favorite people is ina garten.
i met her years ago and i admit, i was star struck...
her food is amazing and she is amazing.
she is as warm and friendly in person as she appears to be on her shows.
she continues to expand her business in the most successful way by being
a nice person and doing what she loves... it's that simple.
i carried her foods years ago when they first came out and then all the big guns in town
began to carry it all so i stopped.
well after at least weekly requests for bringing
her products back to the store, we finally did.
they continue to be one of the most popular items in red ticking and when
carol and i aren't taking the boxes home, they are flying off the shelves.

john derian

john derian is a wonderful man.
i became acquainted with him after shopping his stores and running into him at many antique shows over the years.
he has incredible taste and when he introduced his furniture collection last year,
i knew it would be the perfect fit with red ticking.
john selects each piece which are taken from his own personal vintage collection.
cisco brothers (an amazing furniture manufacturer) builds the furniture using... LIBECO my favorite linen to upholster or slipcover with.
match made in heaven? i think so...

the clam bar

ok, i have spring fever..i want to be outside...gardening, flip flops and hanging with my pals.
i was going thru a pile of great photos and came across these taken at the clam bar.
it is a literally a "shack" on the side of montauk hwy that is one of the most fabulous places to eat! if you ever have an opportunity to head out to the hamptons...you MUST stop here.... exactly what the signs say...a little bit of everything that we all love and the best clam chowder i have ever eaten ...throw down with bobby flay???

the perfect sailboats

one of my favorite summertime adventures is going to the hamptons.
wonderful friends gather, beach time, amazing meals and yes, shopping!
i am so alive when i am there... each day is like a shot in the arm of pure inspiration.
i purchased a lovely driftwood boat in a tiny store in sag harbor that a local had handcrafted himself.
i returned to the beach in montauk, collected all of the driftwood i could find, threw it in the rental car and shipped it back to seattle!
with the help of a dear and talented friend, the boats are now being handcrafted for red ticking
you can buy in the store or we will customize to fit your home.

libeco belgian linen

another treasure in my life is libeco.
known as the "masters of linen" founded in 1858,
they certainly know how to create impeccable products
using their linen.
tablecloths, napkins, bedding, and clothing...
you can view their website at www.libeco.com or come into
red ticking to see it in person...
libeco will change your world... it has mine.

laundry night

i love laundry night. call me crazy, but i find it relaxing.
i collect all of the bundles into a large french basket
and putter while it all washes clean..
the smell of freshly laundered sheets, towels... aahhh.
a big pile of european grainsacks are ready to go in next!

heaven on earth

ok, i admit it.. i am a fabric snob.
i have looked for the PERFECT towel for years and have finally discovered it.
i carry these towels in red ticking because once used them, i
became ADDICTED to them.
i felt it was my purpose in life to allow others
to follow... and did i mention? 60 colors

the store

red ticking has been a dream come true...
it all began when i turned 16 and got my first antique bedroom set.
i have grown into a true purist...
after many trips to paris, the south of france and lovely places all over the world, i wanted to have a store where i could bring lovely things for others to enjoy what i so love.
enjoy.
