quilts

i have a fascination with great antique whimsical quilts... and so does my client.
we see them and melt. we viewed a $10m home today that was quite similar to my last post (for her, surely not in my budget) on the water and magnificent... pure craftsmanship and yet, cozy and lived in... in almost every room lived a fabulous old quilt... tucked around a bench cushion, folded over a bed, draped over a sofa...made into a pillow...
here is one that will surely gets snagged... immediately.

and yes, one day i will share photos of the home... simply stunning.

So curious about this home...and the quilts are wonderful, there's nothing like the feel of an old one, the weight of them is so speical.

Did I mention that I'm curious about this home? ;)

Old quilts are truly special. Actually all of those old crafted linens and embroidered linens are amazing. I love to think about the history of each piece and all the work that has gone into them. Sounds like a great house!

My mom has a thing for quilts and has given me a couple of her favorites. I like pulling them out in the fall - there's nothing cozier. :)
