Nice slips, I am in agreement on the neutral scheme of things too. I see enough color in a day to want a more relaxed palatte at the end of the day.

I have used the Gramercy chair from Ballard Designs for dining chairs sometimes. They run about 250 each and can be slip covered for about 175 in their fabric choices. I had my upholstery guy make new linen slipcovers as well because the Ballard slips are somewhat flimsy. Guys love these chairs because they are big, deep and wide.
might work!

How about a bench and then some chairs. Granted I have bench on the brain right now but.... we have often done dining rooms that way -bench on one side and then chairs around the rest. Actually restoration hardware has some really great chairs (some upholstered) that are affordable and have great lines/finishes. Good luck! Daniel
my absolute favorite (blogged about them in G.P Schafer's Hudson Valley country house & have them myself) are beat up Hitchcock chairs -- fabulous around a country table. Could be because I went to the Hitchcock factory sale every year as a child, but more likely it's just because I love the classic, weathered New England vibe.
no suggestions but can't wait to hear what others have to say. We have antique dining room table/chair sets we'll be refinishing, but I'm tempted to store the chairs in the attic (can't bare to get rid of them yet!) and buy more comfortable chairs!
This image kills me! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
Thanks for posting such beauty!!

WOW. The ones in the picture are amazing. They look like upholstered wing chairs.
Good luck with your dining room chair hunt...you've certainly got a lot to look for. Quite a task. XXXX
love this look! amazing..lulu
Those chairs are fantastic! I wish I could help...I have always loved the Tolix chairs that are found in the Sundance catalog, although they are on the more pricey end...
Hi Pam, Lovely to find you too - the mere name of your blog is enough to inspire me! I don't envy you with your dining chair hunt - some of the Kartell styles could suit the modern waterfront. Good luck!
ah..... dining chairs... they cycle in and out of my house as fast as the weather changes in Texas. LOLOL
Good luck with your hunt - but I tell ya - those are FANTASTIC!!!

Ummmmm.....drooling over here. Snatch those babies up okay
already? Maybe do the two captains chairs like these and the remainder matching? Just a thought. Good to hear you are doing so well Pam!

wow, I had no idea those in the trade had a hard time finding dining chairs too- I thought it was just me...I've been searching and I'm in London, so the choices are even scarcer. I really do like some of Restoration Hardware chairs as well as Williams Sonoma, but I assume you've covered those already. Good luck in your search!
